Cup Grinding Wheels
Cup grinding wheels, sometimes called cup wheels, have abrasive material on the side of the wheel for cutting, grinding, and finishing metal, wood, glass, plastic, cement, ceramic, and composite materials. They're designed for use with bench or angle grinders. Dish grinding wheels are shallow wheels commonly used in tool rooms for grinding metal cutters, drills, and gears. They're thin for grinding in tight slots or crevices. Straight cup grinding wheels have straight sides and are mounted on bench grinders, surface grinders, and sharpeners. They're designed for stock removal, general grinding, and sharpening. Flaring cup grinding wheels feature a flaring cup shape and a larger surface area than straight cup wheels. They're commonly used for metalwork and masonry, removing heavy materials, beveling applications, and rough grinding.
