Abrasive Dressing Products
Abrasive dressing products dress, or sharpen, the cutting edges on the surface of a grinding wheel or saw. Dressed wheels cut faster and with less resistance than undressed wheels, leaving smoother edges and fewer chatter marks and chips. Abrasive dressing products also true grinding wheels to ensure the wheel's face is well-aligned with the item to be ground. Dressing sticks are designed to be cut in thin slices by wheels with abrasive blades, revealing a sharp new layer of abrasive cutting surface. Dressing tools are metal tools with a sharpened tip that are either manual or held in a dressing machine. They're usually made of or covered with diamonds or diamond grit, and are designed to be held at an angle against the grinding wheel surface, sharpening the surface as it runs more quickly than dressing sticks.
