Multimeters use color-coded test leads to measure voltage, current, and resistance in circuits, components, wall outlets, and other electrical devices. They are often used by technicians, electricians, and homeowners for general industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Digital multimeters have an LCD digital display that shows measurement data as well as more advanced functions and features than analog meters. Select meters can be paired with Bluetooth connectors and other software to save, store, and transfer data to a PC or smartphone. Digital multimeter kits come with a meter and matching accessory items for general testing and troubleshooting applications. Analog multimeters have an indicator needle that moves along a scale marked with units of measure to indicate electrical readings. They are durable and do not freeze up in extreme temperatures.
