Thickness Gauges, Feeler Gauges & Snap Gauges
Thickness gauges use a spindle-and-anvil in conjunction with a dial gauge or digital display to quickly measure the thickness of a part. Dial and digital thickness gauges are operated with a lever, trigger, or button that opens jaws that a workpiece is held between and a thickness measurement will be determined by a dial reading or shown on a digital LCD screen. Feeler gauge rolls and stock are long coils of feeler gauge stock. They can be unrolled and cut to a desired size. Feeler gauges and sets are thin strips of metal or plastic that are inserted into gaps and used to measure gap widths. Snap gauges have a C-frame with a fixed or adjustable opening used to quickly determine if a part is a Go or No-Go.
