Molded case circuit breakers interrupt current flows in the event of a fault to protect devices from electrical damage. Their current-carrying parts, mechanisms, and trip devices are all completely contained in a molded case of insulating material. They have higher interrupt ratings than miniature circuit breakers to serve high-power industrial and commercial applications, such as control panels, OEM, and electrical distribution equipment. Molded case circuit breakers must be replaced by the same brand of breaker to maintain functionality.
